Welcome to Season 2 of The Campfire’s edge. This episode features new art from Sarah (pen, colored pencil and paint on black paper) of a barred owl eating a worm snake in front of one of our trail cameras.
In this episode, Sarah and I talk through the chronology of our 2024 deer hunting season. Our 2023 deer hunting season had been full of dramatic high strangeness and UAPs (inspiring this podcast), this year had a very different feel and a whole cast of animal characters.
My favorite thing about this winter was watching woods remotely as we shared abundance of the landscape with a wide range of animals. Two of my favorite backyard trail cam videos are below. One is a troop of otters. The second is the gray fox, one of several animals in the period of about a week, to bring a snake to eat in front of the camera.
Here is the image of the Golden Coyote Sarah saw in the woods.

Hope everyone enjoys the new intro music! Please reach out to info@thecampfiresedge.com if you’d like to come on the show.
