S2/Ep14: My Dad, Project Blue Book and Daemonic Deer

Oil painting of whitetail buck named Tall Tines referenced in the podcast, by Sarah C. Rose.

In the 1960s, deer-hunter, CPA exam grad, and my future dad Paul Stansberry witnessed a figure flying on a floating platform in near Akron, Ohio. What might have been taken for a secret military test flight quickly shifted to something otherworldly as the platform the humanoid shaped being was standing on accelerated so quickly, to such a high altitude, that the craft and rider exceeded human technology and physical capacities.

He then tells a story about a deer hunt that went unlike anything I’ve ever heard of, specifically around wounded deer behavior.

The episode begins with an overview of Sarah and my 2025 deer season. The episode’s art is a work in progress oil painting of our favorite deer of 2025, Tall Tines by Sarah C. Rose.
